What is the Groundwater Approach?

The Groundwater Approach is a data-driven framework that helps organizations look beyond individual behavior to examine how systems impact outcomes. It equips leaders to diagnose root causes and take strategic, measurable action to create lasting change.

What types of organizations do you work with?

We partner with corporations, nonprofits, foundations, and public agencies across healthcare, transportation, education, and government sectors. Our clients range from Fortune 500 companies to community-based organizations committed to systemic change.

What results can we expect from a Groundwater program?

Clients report stronger alignment on mission goals, equity goals, or both, measurable progress in workforce engagement, and clearer strategies that deliver both business and social value.

How do the training formats work?

Programs can be delivered in-person or virtually, combining compelling storytelling, interactive discussion, and data-based analysis. We also offer self-paced learning modules and custom packages designed to fit your organization’s size, structure, and goals.

Who should participate in a Groundwater program?

Our sessions are designed for leaders at every level—from executives shaping strategy to frontline staff driving daily impact. We also offer tailored experiences for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and social impact teams who need tools to navigate today’s complex landscape.

What’s included in the Immersive Experience?

The Immersive Experience combines video modules and live facilitation to help participants build shared language, deepen systems-level understanding, and align on next steps. Many organizations follow with an Activation Session to apply insights directly to strategy.

How do you measure impact?

We work with clients to define metrics connected to both organizational performance and social outcomes. Measures often include shifts in leadership accountability, workforce equity, employee engagement, and progress toward defined “rightful role” goals. We focus on helping clients to measure both the ‘path’ and the ‘goal’ to build momentum while making tangible progress.

What does it mean to define our “rightful role”?

Your “rightful role” is the space where your organization — and every individual — can advance equity with both influence and integrity. This is where business value and social impact align. We help people identify where to focus, how to lead, and how to measure sustainable progress.

How can we sustain momentum after training?

Participants gain access to the Groundwater Network, a community of leaders committed to continued learning, shared accountability, and collective power. We also offer follow-up coaching, coalition-building, and strategy support to embed equity in daily operations.

How do we get started?

You can begin by scheduling a discovery call. We’ll help you determine the best entry point—whether it’s a 1-hour learning webinar, a 1.5-day immersive experience, or a tailored strategy engagement.
